SOUND PAYMENTS ANNOUNCES BILL PITTMAN AS ITS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND STRATEGY
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Sept. 25, 2018) – Sound Payments Inc. welcomed Bill Pittman as its Senior Vice President of Sales and Technology for the Commerce Solutions channel.
Pittman has more than two decades of experience in payment integrations as an executive and a software entrepreneur. Pittman will lead a team of sales professionals and the strategy for Sound Payment’s Seamless Commerce solutions. He will drive top-line revenue and create strategies for business expansion. He previously served as Sound Payment’s vice president of ECR/POS Solutions and headed up the Point-of-Sale solutions group.
“With Bill’s leadership in the Sound Payments Commerce Solutions Channel, we’ll continue to grow as a company and contribute to the industry by providing innovative software solutions and unparalleled customer service,” said Andrew Russell, president of Sound Payments.
Prior to his tenure with Sound Payments, Pittman served as a technical advocate at Sterling Payments for integrated software vendors (ISVs) and POS resellers by providing solution requirements such as system architecture, addressing best practices for transaction security, and developing documentation and educational programs for ISVs and POS resellers. Prior to Sterling, Pittman was Executive Vice President of Technical Services at PowaPOS, where he ran the global technical services group. His executive experience also includes serving as Senior Vice President of Product Strategy for Ingenico’s ROAM Data, and as Senior Manager of Product Management at Amazon, responsible for the company’s internal and external global payment platform products.
Pittman also has experience growing a company from the ground-up. After earning his engineering degree and writing rental/POS software, he started his own company, GO Software. He developed a PC-based payment processing software product called PCCharge. Pittman sold GO Software in 1999. PCCharge grew to become the industry standard for PC-based processing and was sold to VeriFone. Pittman’s second company, TPI Software, developed a payment gateway software product called Smart Payments Server, that is still used by many of the industry’s leading payment processors and ISOs.
